He pitched for the Otters and his veteran presence helped get them to the 2nd round. Brett finally kept Jake in the 2018 playoffs after releasing him the 2 years prior. Jake has 4 years’ experience, one of 10 players to have 4 or more years.

Bracket Info: Jake was the #18 seed last year beating Seth Campbell before losing to Andrew Sitter in the second round. He is the #16 seed this year with hopes of making the sweet 16, the journey begins against Mitchell Gerlach.

Notes: Kevin was a huge part to the foundation and start-up of the league. He won the Championship in 2015, and made it to the Championship in 2014. He was a part of the Leroy Legends in 2016 Regionals and Tournament, and was one of the best fielders at the tournament. He took the 2017 season off before coming back for the 2018 season. After recently getting married he looks to get back into ownership in the 2019 season. Time will tell if he can regain his 2015 presence or if he got to far behind.

Bracket Info: Kevin went all the way to the sweet 16 last year beating Jon Newcomb and Neil Krooswyk as the #16 seed. This year he moves up one seed as the #15 seed and will take on Nathan Zuidema in the first round. They were teammates in the 2015 Championship Fantastic Four squad.

Awards: Experience – 4 (2014, 2016-2018).

Notes: Kyle was the Co-Founder of the league and has been in some way apart of the off the field duties. He owned the Honey Nut Ichiros in 2014, a team that won the first every Wiffy award in the NWLA for best team name. He thought about bringing the Wiffle Ducks into existence, but chose not to in 2018 leading to him being thrown around the league.

Bracket Info: Kyle was the #14 seed last year beating Tony Dykstra before being upset by the #19 seeded Marty Rasala in the second round. He returns as the #14 seed this year and will take on Cameron Varlan in the opening round.

#14 (60.39 Marty Rasala

2017: #19 (45.19)

2016: #25 (27.47)

2015: NA

2014: NA

General Stats – 58 Games Played (27-30-1), 60.39 Ranking (14th), 75.80 Qualify (16th), 44.98 Salary (13th), 40.17 Batting (23rd), 49.79 Pitching (6th).

Batting Stats – 0.493 Average, 0.976 Slugging, 53 Homers, 116 RBI’s, 105 Runs, 96 k’s, 381 at bats.

Pitching Stats – 0.291 Average, 3.14 ERA, 88 IP, 9-8 Record, 9 Saves, 0 Blown Saves, 166 k’s, 371 at bats.

Awards and Notes: Rookie of the Year (2017), All Salary – 1 (2017), All Iron – 1 (2018), All Batting – 1 (2017), All Star – 3 (2016-2018), Experience – 2 (2017-2018).

Notes: Marty burst into the scene late in 2016 and proved he wasn’t a fluke with an impressive 2017. In 2018 he led the Diamond Dusters to a 7th place finish even with struggles of having consistent lineups each week. He just missed out on an all pitching season yet again. He turned down the option of returning as an owner for 2019 with signs he could be #1 pick in the draft.

Hall of Fame Tourney History: Marty was a 19 seed last year and made some noise in the bracket. He defeated Ben Huff(#48) and then upset Co-Founder Kyle Reynhout(#14) in a shocking battle by one vote. He lost in the sweet 16 to Kyle Jansma (#3). He goes into this year’s bracket as the #13 seed facing off against Geoffrey Kozlowski.

#13 (60.58) Grant Reynhout

2017: #13 (52.64)

2016: #14 (38.95)

2015: #14 (35.31)

2014: #23 (25.84)

General Stats – 82 Games Played (31-49-2), 60.58 Ranking (13th), 101.87 Qualify (9th), 19.29 Salary (94th), 19.85 Batting (89th), 18.74 Pitching (91st).

Batting Stats – 0.276 Average, 0.425 Slugging, 21 Homers, 62 RBI’s, 92 Runs, 202 k’s, 572 at bats.

Pitching Stats – 0.508 Average, 12.74 ERA, 106 IP, 7-22 Record, 3 Saves, 3 Blown Saves, 107 k’s, 634 at bats.

Awards: All Star – 1 (2015), Experience – 5 (2014-2018).

Notes: Grant is one of the most polarizing players in Leroy. After owning a team in the first 4 seasons of the league (Muffin Men, Soup A Stars, One Hit Wonders, Big Unit Bashers) he chose to enter the draft. After a subpar start he was released and signed by multiple teams and at one point announced retiring from the league. He ended up returning and will once again be an owner in 2019 looking to change the reputation that haunted him in years passed. He has been a big fixture in the league and is one of 5 people to have gained a year of experience in each of the first 5 seasons. He welded our strike zones for the league last year and throughout all four years, especially in the early goings was a big part of the league with creative ideas to make the league better.

Hall of Fame Tourney History: Grant was a #13 seed last year and won the matchups he needed to. He defeated Brandon Swanson (#52) and Jeremiah Wiltjer (#20) on route to a sweet 16 loss against Jared Jonkman (#4). Grant will come in as a #12 seed this year facing off against Austin Williams in the opening round.

#12 (61.80) Jack Hillegonds

2017: #12 (52.78)

2016: #18 (38.16)

Batting Stats – 0.521 Average, 1.142 Slugging, 79 Homers, 158 RBI’s, 130 Runs, 81 k’s, 424 at bats.

Pitching Stats – 0.347 Average, 4.82 ERA, 84 2/3 IP, 11-7 Record, 8 Saves, 1 Blown Save, 123 k’s, 383 at bats.

Awards: All Leroy – 1 (2015), All Salary – 2 (2015, 2017), All Batting – 2 (2015, 2017), Experience – 3 (2015, 2017-2018), All Star – 2 (2015, 2017).

Notes: Jack had one of the best years we have ever seen in 2017 from the plate after an injury that caused him to miss a few weeks. He went first overall in the 2018 draft to the Leroy Truckers. After a bust off a year he was released and sent to the Sultans. He was a part of the Nationals team this year that went to Morenci and was part of the infamous Room 2.

Bracket Info: Jack was the #12 seed last year beating Jake Olthoff and Drew Eenigenburg before getting beat out by Jon Gibson. This year he will be the #11 seed and will face Luke Prince in the opening round.

#11 (67.95) Robby Zandstra

2017: #11 (55.69)

2016: #10 (42.75)

2015: #9 (41.20)

2014: #11 (36.78)

General Stats – 71 Games Played (41-30), 67.95 Ranking (11th), 89.67 Qualify (12th), 46.23 Salary (10th), 46.03 Batting (12th), 46.42 Pitching (10th)

Batting Stats – 0.483 Average, 1.120 Slugging, 89 Homers, 175 RBI’s, 152 Runs, 110 k’s, 474 at bats.

Pitching Stats – 0.352 Average, 5.80 ERA, 99 1/3 IP, 12-12 Record, 11 Saves, 2 Blown Saves, 183 k’s, 458 at bats.

Awards: Champion – 2014, All Salary – 1 (2014), All Batting – 1 (2014), All Star – 4 (2014-2017), Experience – 3 (2014, 2017-2018).

Notes: Robby was part of the 2014 Chainsmokers becoming the first team to win a Championship. He owned the Sultans of Soy in 2016 and took the team to the Championship. He went into the draft in 2017, before returning to ownership in 2018. He had a great team before penalties sent the Sultans into a downward spiral. Robby has slowly played more games each year becoming more committed. He is one of the best two way players in the game and we still haven’t seen what he can do in a full season.

Bracket Info: Robby was the #11 seed last year beating both Quinn Cloghessy and Colin Lautenbach before losing to Erik Detmar. This year he enters as the #10 seed facing off against Kyle Gagliardi in round 1.

2016: #12 (40.59)

2015: #8 (42.90)

2014: #9 (39.20)

Batting Stats: 0.403 Average, 0.699 Slugging, 38 Homers, 92 RBI’s, 130 Runs, 142 k’s, 549 at bats.

Pitching Stats: 0.397 Average, 7.08 ERA, 112 2/3 IP, 15-12 Record, 10 Saves, 0 Blown Saves, 143 k’s, 557 at bats.

Awards: Experience – 4 (2014-2015, 2017-2018), All Star – 3 (2014-2015, 2017).

Notes: Jordan has owned the Backdoor Sliders for five seasons, and will be the only player to own a team for 6 years when the Sliders come back in 2019. In 2018 he had some salary penalties leading himself to bench himself. It was his 4th year of experience and the first time he played a full year and wasn’t an All Star.

Bracket Info: Jordan Mosel made the sweet 16 last year beating Colton Ebbens and Mike Fiene, before losing to Tim Wiltjer. This year he becomes the #9 seed it hopes of going a step farther. He takes on David Buczek in the opening round.

#9 (70.40) Jon Gibson

2017: #5 (64.39)

2016: #6 (49.51)

2015: #1 (59.41)

2014: #17 (31.35)

General Stats – 61 Games Played (38-22-1), 70.40 Ranking (9th), 89.18 Qualify (13th), 51.62 Salary (6th), 46.71 Batting (11th), 56.52 Pitching (4th).

Batting Stats – 0.477 Average, 1.137 Slugging, 90 Homers, 169 RBI’s, 149 Runs, 106 k’s, 459 at bats.

Pitching Stats – 0.306 Average, 4.44 ERA, 101 1/3 IP, 11-5 Record, 14 Saves, 0 Blown Saves, 159 k’s, 435 at bats.

Awards: Mr. Leroy – 1 (2015), Rookie of Year (2015), Most Improved – 2 (2015, 2017), Ironman Award – 1 (2015), All Leroy – 1 (2015), All Salary – 2 (2015, 2017), All Iron Team – 1 (2015), All Batting – 2 (2015, 2017), All Pitching – 2 (2015, 2017). All Star – 2 (2015, 2017), Experience – 2 (2015, 2017).

Notes: The Odd Year Jon myth continues. After an All Pitching and All Star year in 2017 he didn’t even get enough games in to get a year of credit in 2018. He was the #1 ranked player after the 2015 season and had a season that held records that many would never seen broken. He is a shoe in for a first round pick, but is a huge gamble that could cost teams everything if something else takes priority.

Bracket Info: Jon made the Elite 8 last year beating Isaiah Devries, Cody Martin, and Jack Hillegonds before losing to Jared Jonkman. He was the #5 seed last year and goes in as the #8 this year. He takes on Kyle Zuidema in the opening round.

#8 (71.66) Kyle Jansma:

2017: #3 (71.50)

2016: #3 (53.55)

2015: #4 (51.28)

2014: #6 (47.93)

General Stats – 70 Games Played (33-36-1), 71.66 Ranking (8th), 101.41 Qualify (10th), 42.91 Salary (17th), 42.17 Batting (18th), 43.64 Pitching (17th)

Batting Stats – 0.411 Average, 1.010 Slugging, 92 Homers, 174 RBI’s, 152 Runs, 141 k’s, 514 at bats.

Pitching Stats – 0.402 Average, 6.80 ERA, 114 2/3 IP, 12-9 Record, 10 Saves, 0 Blown Saves, 116 k’s, 555 at bats

Notes: Kyle Jansma added to his resume this year leading the Dutch Ovens to a #2 seed going into the playoffs. He has been a consistent fixture in the league through its entirety. The one thing holding him back is he has never even made it to a championship series in any of the 4 years he played. He and his wife welcomed their first child into the world a couple weeks after the 2017 season. Jansma never made an appearance in 2018 and signs show he may never make it back.

Bracket Info: The hottest topic of 2017 was the Elite 8 Match Up between Erik Detmar and Kyle Jansma. Kyle was the #3 seed last year beating Stan Sroczynski, Shane Anderson and Marty Rasala before destroying Erik Detmar in the Elite 8 vote. He lost to Brett Detmar in the final four which could be the farthest we ever see Kyle Jansma go after an early retirement. This year he will be the #7 seed and will take on Bo Hofstra in the opening round.

2017: #7 (62.54)

Awards and Notes: All Leroy – 2014, All Salary – 2014, All Iron – 2 (2014, 2017), All Pitching – 2014, Experience – 4 (2014, 2016-2018), All Star – 3 (2014, 2016, 2017).

Sam has been the head of grounds committee the past 2 years and the go to guy for anything on game day. He recently purchased a vending machine and has some big upgrades in the making yet again for 2019. In the 4 years he has played, he has made the Championship twice, losing both times. He has been named Vice Commissioner for the 2019 season.

Hall of Fame Tourney History: Sam was the #9 seed last season knocking out Nick Jordan (#56) and Greg Gierling (#24) in easy fashion before going up against Matt Dykstra (#8). He lost by 4 votes and missed the Elite 8. This year he becomes the #5 seed with hopes of getting farther. He will take on Andrew Felde in the opening round.

Matt could have had have more awards if he didn’t pull a 76ers style tank the past few years to plummet his salary late in the year. Matt ran the social media for the whole 2017 season, produced a drone video of the Leroy Grounds, as well as ran the Leroy Clams to a 10th place finish #thatsclam. Some National highlights include Matt threw a shutout against BWACS in the 2017 NWLA Tournament for the Legends. He will be back in 2019 as an owner of the Scrappin’ Turtles. It wouldn’t be an article about Matt without talking about how his arm is gone, latest rumor has a double Tommy John in his future.

Hall of Fame Tournament History: Last year Matt knocked off James Haworth (#57), Alan Myszkowski (#25), and Sam Staal (#9) before losing to Caleb Jonkman (#1) in the Elite 8 last year. He split up from his brother becoming an owner in 2018, where he led the Sluggers to the Championship beating the Bombers in the semi finals in a very controversial 3 game series that ended in a walk off walk. Erik was the 2nd best player in the league this year based on ranking and looks to become the face of the league through recruiting in 2019.

Bracket Info: Erik was the #6 seed in last year’s bracket losing in the Elite 8 to Kyle Jansma. He beat Alex Menn, Nick Fiene, and Robby Zandstra before the loss that fueled him in 2018. He goes into this year with the #2 seed in efforts to become the 2nd player inducted into the Hall.

He is one of 2 players to be an All Star every single year of Leroy’s existence. He has been Vice Commissioner for 3 seasons and will be an owner of the Corn Bombers for the 5th season in 2019.

Bracket Info: Brett was the #2 seed last year making it all the way to the finals. He beat Andy Turner, Wes Ellis, Andrew Sitter, Tim Wiltjer, and Kyle Jansma before losing to Caleb.
