Kermit's 2018 Hall of Fame Bracket Part 1
Welcome to the first Hall of Fame entry tournament. I want to thank all 73 people who have stepped foot on Leroy’s hallowed grounds and making this the greatest league ever. For this tournament, only you 73 have a vote in who makes it to the top. This article will give you all the information you need about the players and the tournament.
Let’s start with the tournament itself, the players are ranked based on their career Leroy Ranking. The Leroy Ranking is a formula that takes skill and attendance into consideration. No matter what if you come play every single week you will get a higher ranking year after year, add some good stats into the mix and you will see yourself near the top.
The top 64 players make the bracket fighting for the chance to be into the Leroy Hall of Fame. Only one player will make the Hall each year. Like I mentioned before the only players available to vote are the players who have played in Leroy.
To decide who the winner is you ultimately take the votes from the players, but there is a twist. Each player starts with the number of votes that his opponent’s seed is. For example, the #30 Shane Anderson plays the #35 Nathan Zuidema in the first round. Shane starts with 35 votes, while Nathan starts with 30 votes in this matchup. You take those votes, plus the votes of the players and you have a winner.
Not only is this a way to induct a player into the Hall of Fame, but we use this as a way to see yourself progress year to year. Players can work to try and get further through the bracket, and also get to know some players they may not have known or heard about.
Finally, we will provide a written section below with career stats, award, and notes about each player as well as an entertaining podcast talking about the player matchups. There is no right or wrong way to vote and you have all the power to vote how you please. If you don’t vote for a round, you will not be allowed to vote in further rounds. Please make sure to vote each round. So, let’s jump into the players, you can click below to listen to the podcast while following along through the article.

Some quick notes, the numbers listed under general stats are rankings.
Ranking – Is what we used to seed the players it takes the Qualify and Salary Rankings into one number.
Qualify – This stat is generated strictly by innings pitched and at bats.
Salary – This is a based on performance, it takes the batting ranking and pitching ranking into one number.
Batting – This is based on your batting performance, it takes 6 batting stats into consideration against the rest of the league.
Pitching – This is based on your pitching performance, it takes 6 pitching stats into consideration against the rest of the league.
Each one of those 5 categories are averaged at 30.00. This means the league average for each one is 30.00 even. If you are above 30 you are above average if you are below, you are below.

Kyle Jansma added to his resume this year leading the Dutch Ovens to a #2 seed going into the playoffs. He has been a consistent fixture in the league through its entirety. The one thing holding him back is he has never even made it to a championship series in any of the 4 years he played. He and his wife welcomed their first child into the world a couple weeks after the season. We hope to see Zander make an appearance in Leroy in 2018!

Robby has slowly played more games each year becoming more committed. He is one of the best two way players in the game and we still haven’t seen what he can do in a full season.

He was a big part of the playoffs for the Bombers on route to a championship. With some new energy from the league we hope to see a full year out of Colin in 2018.

Awards and Notes: Experience – 2 (2014-2015). Nick owned the Legends of Leroy in 2015, a name that stuck for the National Team for the league. He was very active in the first two seasons, and didn’t make an appearance in 2017. With his collegiate running career coming to a close soon, we hope to see him make a return.

He also will head the Recruiting Committee in 2018 as he looks to get 40 guys week in and out to the Leroy complex.
